Responsibilities

  1. Dispense prescribed medications and ensure proper dosage, administration, and safety guidelines.
  2. Provide expert guidance to healthcare professionals on drug interactions, side effects, and proper usage.
  3. Maintain accurate records of medications, prescriptions, and controlled substances.
  4. Ensure compliance with New Zealand's pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies.
  5. Educate patients on medication management and adherence to prescribed treatments.
  6. Collaborate with doctors and nurses to review and adjust prescriptions as needed.
  7. Monitor stock levels and manage pharmacy inventory to prevent shortages.
  8. Assist in developing pharmaceutical care programs and hospital medication policies.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  2. A valid practicing license in the home country.
  3. Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting.
  4. Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, drug interactions, and medical treatments.
  5. Excellent communication and counseling skills for patient education.
  6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
